The Theory Test consists of 2 parts. Part 1 is a multiple choice test of 50 questions and Part 2 is a hazard perception test. All pupils are strongly recommended to make use of the learning resources which are available for each part of the Theory Test.
Multiple Choice Questions:-There are 3 books in particular which will help you prepare for this test, The Highway Code, Know your Traffic Signs and the Driving Skills series. There is also available a complete set of theory test questions and answers in book and CD rom format.
Hazard Perception:-In this test, candidates view 14 video clips in which they must identify 15 developing hazards. Training resources for this test are available on various CD and DVD products. Pupils should make full use of these practice clips prior to taking their Theory Test. This theoretical hazard perception will be linked in with the ongoing practical hazard perception which your instructor will undertake with you during your driving lessons. Pupils who are experiencing difficulty with the theoretical hazard perception or who have no access to a home computer can undertake in-car training with their instructor using a laptop computer.
