These Terms and Conditions are based on the "Code of Practice for Approved Driving Instructors". It is important that each pupil's read and understand them and where they have any questions or concerns, they seek clarification. We (The School) cannot accept responsibility for any misunderstanding arising from a pupils neglect in reading them.
- Progress Book
- Pupils will be given a Progress Book at the beginning of a course of lessons. The Progress Book will be used to monitor the pupils progress and also to record their next lesson appointment. Pupils are requested to bring their Progress Book with them for each lesson.
- Driving Licence
- Pupils must ensure that they are holders of a valid and signed current Driving Licence. This must be produced on the first lesson when an eye-sight test will also be given.
- Pupils must inform The School if they receive any endorsements during the time they are receiving tuition.
- Pupils must advise The School of any disabilities or any prescribed medication which may affect their ability to drive. They must not attend for lessons under the influence of drink or drugs.
- Well Being
- In the interest of safety and comfort, pupils are strongly advised to wear only suitable flat soled footwear. Clothing which does not restrict any movement or clothing which is not so loose as to interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle controls is recommended. If in doubt please ask and we will be happy to advise you.
- Postponement of a lesson by The School
- If, due to vehicle breakdown or other emergency, a lesson has to be postponed at short notice, an alternative lesson shall be made with mutual consent. In the case of a Driving Test, The School shall be responsible to the pupil for the fee of the next test.
- Driving Tests shall take priority over lessons. Therefore, a lesson booked may on occasion have to be cancelled or postponed if The School receives short notice of a Driving Test.
- Except for the reason shown above we will wherever possible give notice of re-arrangement or postponement of a lesson within the same limit that The School imposes upon the pupil postponing or cancelling a lesson.
- Postponement of a lesson by the pupil
- At least 24 hours notice of cancellation or postponement of a lesson is required.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice must be paid for.
- Road Safety
- The right is reserved to not provide a car for test use to pupils deemed not to be up to test standard.
- Postponement of a Test
- We draw the attention of Pupils to the fact that a Statutory Period of Notice is required under Government Regulations for the postponement or cancellation of a Test. Please be advised that we cannot be held responsible for the loss of the Test Fee if the Pupil fails to notify the Test booking office. The address and telephone number of the booking office is given on the Test Appointment Document.
- We cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation of a Driving Test by the DSA or their representatives for any reason whatsoever.
- Students should note that where lessons or vehicle tuition are cancelled at short notice because of cancellation by the Testing Authority, fees remain payable. It may be possible to claim lost fees from the Testing Authority. Please ask your instructor's advice.
Payments
Payment for lessons is expected at the commencement of each lesson unless block booking payments have been made. Payment is accepted by cash or by cheque when accompanied by a valid bankers card. We cannot offer credit or accept payment by Credit Card.
